The final test has been completed for the expected update on Ethereum price movement! - Coin Bulletin
Ethereum (ETH) developers activated the Pectra upgrade on the Hoodi test network on Wednesday, with the aim of making a stable deployment of Ethereum on the mainnet.
Hoodi is a new test network launched by Ethereum developers on March 17 and created to successfully test the Pectra upgrade following issues experienced on the previous Holesky and Sepolia networks. This move may be the final test before Pectra is implemented on the Ethereum mainnet.
Hoodi is a network developed due to issues experienced in previous tests. There have been instabilities in the network due to configuration errors in Holesky, while Sepolia faced synchronization issues. However, the testing process of Hoodi went quite successfully, and just half an hour after the activation of the Pectra upgrade, the fork process was completed successfully. This development means that Ethereum is one step closer to implementing this upgrade on the mainnet.
With the Pectra upgrade, some important improvements will be made to the Ethereum network. These include enhancing the user experience in crypto wallets, account abstraction with EIP-7702, and increasing the validator stake limit from 32 ETH to 2.048 ETH with EIP-7251. Additionally, an important step will be taken to increase the number of blobs with EIP-7691 to improve rollup scalability.
Developers stated that if the tests on the Hoodi test network do not cause significant issues, Pectra could become active on the Ethereum mainnet around 30 days later, that is, by the end of April. However, this deployment could also be postponed until May or June so that all stakeholders have the opportunity to conduct further testing and evaluation.
