At a small campground water park with my boys. We wandered past the splash pad and slides and found a river with a pond tucked away behind it. No signs, no fences — just flowing water and quiet.
They’ve spent the last hour building a rock dam, trying to stop the river. We talked about how water always finds a way. It doesn’t quit, doesn’t ask. It just moves. It’s unstoppable energy — the same force humans have been trying to harness since the beginning.
That turned into a conversation about Bitcoin. About how it’s the first time we’ve truly learned how to store energy — real energy — across space and time. And how wild it is that I get to be a part of that, to actually own a piece of that network.
But what struck me more was how this one thing — Bitcoin — has made me think differently about everything. It’s not about being rich. It’s not about price. It’s about time. How we spend it. Who we spend it with. And how watching my kids play in a river on a Saturday afternoon somehow feels like wealth now.
Bitcoin didn’t just change how I store value. It changed what I value.
And maybe that’s the real point.
