Bitcoin blockchain has experienced a rare activity. According to on-chain data, two Bitcoin wallets that had been inactive for 14 years transferred a total of 20,000 BTC ( to other addresses for approximately 2.18 billion dollars ).

Bitcoin Wallets Activating After 14 Years: 20,000 BTC Transferred

These addresses first appeared on April 3, 2011, with a transaction from a wallet named "1HqXB…gDwcK". In this transaction, 23,377.83 BTC was sent to three different addresses. Two addresses received 10,000 BTC each, while the third address was left with 3,377.83 BTC. These two large receiver wallets ( "12tLs…xj2me" and "1KbrS…AWJYm" ) have not made any transactions since that date.

However, this situation changed on Thursday night and early Friday morning. Both addresses transferred their 10,000 BTC balances to new addresses with a 30-minute interval. Interestingly, the BTCs received at these addresses were recorded as the first and only incoming transaction in the respective wallets. The new addresses to which the transfers were made have not shown any activity so far.

The uncertainty remains about whether these two wallets belong to the same person or different individuals. Additionally, there is no information regarding the reasons for the transfers in question. However, the noteworthy point is this: these 20,000 BTC, which were worth $7,800 in 2011, are now valued at approximately $2.18 billion, indicating a staggering value increase of 13,982,800%.

Such old wallet movements typically cause excitement and speculation in the markets, while some experts evaluate that these transfers could be cold wallet updates or inheritance transactions made for security purposes.
