Israel's Defense Minister revealed that there were plans to eliminate Iran's Supreme Leader, but they were abandoned due to the inappropriate timing.

According to reports, Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated in an interview with Israel's Channel 13 that during the Israel-Iran conflict, the Israeli side had planned to "remove" Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei, but was never able to find the right opportunity.

Katz said: "If he comes into our line of sight, we'll take action." He added: "We had hoped to eliminate Khamenei, but we couldn't find a viable opportunity to act." When asked if they had ever sought U.S. approval for the operation, Katz replied: "We do not need to obtain permission for such things."
