Musk: DOGE "definitely should" scrutinize The Federal Reserve (FED) renovation costs of the headquarters.

On May 1, Musk stated that he is considering sending his U.S. government efficiency team to the Federal Reserve (FED) and noted that there may be waste when the FED spends money to renovate its headquarters. Musk said, "Ultimately, this is taxpayer money, and I think we certainly - we absolutely should - look at whether the FED is really spending $2.5 billion on their interior designers." As of 2022, the FED's renovation costs for the headquarters have ballooned to $2.5 billion over the years, which the FED attributes to rising costs of building materials and labor since the project began in 2021, when Inflation started to soar.
