The development team behind the memecoin Melania Meme (MELANIA), which is said to be related to U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, has been accused by blockchain analysis company Bubblemaps of quietly transferring 50 million tokens worth approximately 30 million USD out of the community fund and starting to sell them on the market. According to Bubblemaps ( on 7/4), this token was transferred to a wallet, then distributed to multiple addresses. Among them: 3 million USD has been transferred to exchanges, 6 million USD is used to open two new positions, and 500,000 USD has been sold. Currently, there is still no explanation from the development team. Bubblemaps indicates that the MELANIA group is completely silent, not mentioning any transactions or the selling of tokens. In addition, 92% of the MELANIA supply is held in the wallets of the development team, and "significant damage has not yet occurred," implying that the risk of manipulation and sell-off remains very high. MELANIA falls freely from a great height The MELANIA token was launched on January 19, right after Donald Trump introduced his own memecoin and before he announced his re-election campaign. Since then, the token price has dropped by more than 96%, from a peak of 13 USD to just 0.51 USD, according to CoinGecko. Bubblemaps also revealed that Hayden Davis, who claims to be a co-founder of MELANIA, has secretly sold tokens through one-way liquidity manipulation since last month. Bubblemaps reports that Hayden Davis also used similar tactics to secretly sell the memecoin LIBRA, which was promoted by Argentine President Javier Milei, leading to a political scandal after the token plummeted in value. In addition, interest in memecoins is clearly decreasing due to market volatility: The number of tokens launched from the Pump.fun platform (Solana) has decreased by more than 2/3, from 5,400 to 1,500 each week since January. Data from SolScan shows that only 31,651 tokens were created on April 5, a sharp decline from the peak of 95,578 tokens on January 26 during the memecoin boom.
