The Ukrainian army claimed to have advanced 35 kilometers into Russia's Kursk Oblast and established a military office.
Jinshi Data News on August 15th, Ukraine's highest military commander Selsky said on Thursday that the Ukrainian army has established a military command office in the Kursk region of Russia, and he also said that his troops are still advancing, having advanced 1.5 kilometers in the past 24 hours. In a video released by Ukrainian President Zelensky, Selsky told him that since launching the attack last week, the Ukrainian army has advanced 35 kilometers into the Kursk region of Russia. Kiev launched a major attack on Russian territory last week, catching Moscow off guard, as the Russian army has been making small but steady progress in eastern Ukraine over the past year. Selsky said that the Ukrainian army has controlled 82 settlements during the Kursk operation, covering an area of 1150 square kilometers. He said that he will appoint Major General Moshkalyov to lead the military command office in the western region of Russia controlled by the Ukrainian army. "We are advancing in the Kursk region. A military command office has been established to ensure order and meet all the needs of the local residents," Selsky said in a written statement on his Telegram channel.
