Odaily Planet Daily News: Five US senators and three representatives are once again urging the CFTC to ban betting on the 2024 presidential election. In their letter to CFTC Chairman Rostin Benham on August 5th, they stated that such markets "may affect and interfere with elections, and further undermine public trust in democracy," urging him to quickly finalize and implement this regulation to prevent the commercialization of US elections. The letter was signed by Senators Jeff Merkley, Richard Blumenthal, Chris Van Hollen, Elizabeth Warren, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Representatives Jamie Raskin, John Sarbanes, and Eleanor Holmes Norton.
