Visa partners with Bridge to launch stablecoin payment card services, initially covering six Latin American countries.

According to Gate.io News bot, The Block reports that payment giant Visa has partnered with the Stripe-backed startup Bridge to launch a new payment card service. This service allows developers to issue Visa cards that support stablecoins, enabling cardholders to make purchases at all merchants that accept Visa.

Bridge will be responsible for handling stablecoin balance deductions and fiat conversion, among other backend technical support. This service will initially launch in six Latin American countries: Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, and Chile, where merchants will directly receive payments in local fiat currency.
