Oasys Releases Technical Roadmap to Build Three Core Foundations for the Blockchain Gaming Ecosystem

As a public blockchain focused on bringing traditional games into the Web3 era, Oasys released a new technical roadmap on the occasion of its second anniversary. This roadmap addresses current technical challenges and user pain points, proposing corresponding solutions and outlining short-term and medium-term technical plans. The three core components of the Oasys technical roadmap are application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability.

Technical Challenges Facing the Development of Blockchain Games

Despite the continuous improvement of the underlying blockchain technology in recent years, there are still some technical shortcomings in the practice of public chains for blockchain games. Oasys addresses these challenges by updating its technical roadmap.

Continuity of game assets

A core advantage of blockchain games is that they solve the ownership issue of game assets. However, with the popularity of modular technology architecture, abandoning data on Layer 2 has created a new problem of lack of continuity for user assets. Oasys has proposed a new approach by mirroring "game assets" from Layer 2 to Layer 1, providing permanent and continuous protection for user assets.

Interoperability of Layer2

Oasys's Layer2 is called Verse Layer, symbolizing that each Layer 2 network is an independent "small universe". To achieve interoperability between these "small universes", Oasys plans to introduce cross-chain bridges, adopt a universal data format, and standardize APIs. This will allow users to easily and securely move data and assets between different games on Oasys.

ecosystem scalability

Building and maintaining a unique ecosystem is a major challenge faced by public chains. Oasys provides tools and resources necessary to support ecosystem development and reduce technical barriers by closely collaborating with ecosystem partners and existing Layer 2 operators. The Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK) allows businesses to quickly access high-quality Layer 2, accelerating project launch speed and focusing on content development.

Roadmap Focus on Technology Updates and Community Support within 1-3 Years

Oasys's technology roadmap is divided into two phases: short-term (within 1 year) and medium-term (2-3 years), aimed at keeping up with the development trends and demands of the Web3 market.

Short-term planning (within 1 year)

  • Standardization of Game Asset Specifications
  • Create practical use cases
  • Provide Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK)

Mid-term plan (2-3 years)

  • Solve protocol layer issues
  • Achieve interoperability between Layer 2s
  • Provide developer tools

In terms of short-term planning, Oasys has achieved some results. For example, it launched the L2 chain XPLA Verse in collaboration with the Korean mobile game group Com2uS, bringing well-known games onto the blockchain. In addition, the blockchain game "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" based on the Japanese football manga "Captain Tsubasa" has also been officially launched on Oasys.

In terms of expanding the ecosystem, Oasys recently partnered with Japan's SBI Group to enhance its influence in the crypto gaming and NFT market in Japan. Earlier this year, Oasys also collaborated with Kakao's Web3 gaming division, Metabora SG, to support its expansion into the Japanese market.

Through this series of initiatives, Oasys has demonstrated its technological innovation and strategic vision in the blockchain gaming sector, while also highlighting its determination to collaborate with industry giants to promote the development of blockchain games. With the gradual implementation of the technological roadmap, Oasys is steadily realizing its vision of establishing global standards for blockchain gaming, creating real value for players and developers, while bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
